War of the Clubs for Kylian Mbappe

It is quite the circus for Kylian Mbappe who at 18-years-old has strings pulling from all sides in an attempt to acquire his signature transfer from Monaco.

It’s not just any simple pursuing of what has become the new face of future stardom, it is the big clubs wanting in and they can break the bank to afford Mbappe while retaining a sizeable amount of change.

Real Madrid has already been called out to sign the striker with former French international footballer, Christophe Dugarry advising the Spanish Giants to sign Mbappe who he labeled “the new gem of world football”.

His 15 goals and eight assists in Ligue 1, helped Monaco to a domestic championship win in addition to a phenomenal six goals in the UEFA Champions League campaign, despite Monaco’s semifinal exit.

“There is a real decision to be made. But sincerely if Mbappe doesn’t go to Real Madrid, it will be a mistake by Real Madrid.

Dugarry told RMC Sport (via GOAL).

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez is equally intrigued by Mbappe’s qualities but with calculative reservations.

“Mbappe is a very good player,” Perez told esRadio. “The summer is long. Zidane has been close to him for several years. Not many players play for Real Madrid at 18 years old. We must be patient. Zidane has him in mind.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“It’s not enough to say we can bring players in and then have them sitting on the bench. We are thinking about Mbappe, but his age makes it difficult to find a place.”[/perfectpullquote]

It is also no secret that Arsenal have been close admirers with past reports of numerous bids made earlier in the summer, the most recent being the club’s record-breaking £125 million bid for the Monaco sensation.

Monaco also came out to calm the waters with Royal figure and club patron Prince Albert II revealing that talks between the two parties are steadily progressing over a new deal at the club, as well as retaining key players whose presence will play a key motivation.

Speaking to France 2, Prince Albert II said, “We’re doing everything to keep (Mbappe). There are talks, he wants to stay, I think we’ll reach an agreement.”

Including a reported 900 per cent increase in wages offer.

And yet, according to French paper L’Equipe, PSG is prepared to lead all fronts as well as double Real’s offer of £100,000 a week, reporting that a meeting with Mbappe, his father, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and the club’s sporting director Antero Henrique was held.

Mbappe could well become the world’s most expensive player, but on a careful note, has not been far from caution. Some of football’s elites have come out to express their concern over the Cameroon/Algeria descent’s future, citing that an early move could affect the 18-year-old’s future.

Former France striker David Trezegeut, who played for Monaco for five years before moving on to becoming Europe’s top elite strikers with Juventus in Italy, urged Mbappe to patiently wait out another season with the French club.

“We know he is a player with a great future and that’s the most important thing,” Trezegeut said according to the Standard.

“He is aware of his qualities, he is aware he is just 17 or 18 years old so he has a good opportunity at Monaco because it is a beautiful city, and a world class academy.

“But everything moves fast in football. Monaco has known a special case with Anthony Martial going to Manchester.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]”Of course the economic part is important, but I think with time, things happen naturally. I think he still has to prove his qualities with Monaco even if he will have the last word.”[/perfectpullquote]

Martial’s disappointing spell with the Red Devils despite a strong first season, has always remained a notable precedent, one which was also echoed by another former French international, David Ginola who advised, “…. staying another season at Monaco will probably be a good thing for him, just for him to settle at the top level a little bit more.”

It is no doubt that the manifestation of such unique qualities at a young age is unavoidably attractive nevertheless, whether the football world is crazed with Mbappe’s social media status, it remains to be seen where destination X will be.
