Isaac Tshibangu: TP Mazembe Winger Joins Belgian Side Anderlecht

TP Mazembe winger Isaac Tshibangu has completed a transfer to Belgian side Anderlecht for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

The 19-year-old joins on a four-year contract with the option to extend the deal for a further 12 months.

Tshibangu, who has three international caps, rose through TP Mazembe junior ranks before being promoted to senior side in 2019.

The youngster helped his former side retain the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Linafoot title and played his last league match on Sunday against Maniema Union.

“It is a great feeling. I feel blessed to be here,” Tshinangu told reporters after landing in Brussels. “I cannot wait to start my new journey and meet my new team-mates.

Tshibangu, who delivered six goals and four assists in 25 games this season, is apparently due to become a direct replacement for the club’s Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona.

Tshibangu is extremely dangerous when he powers down the touchline, especially when there is space between him and his marker and he has the ball at his feet.

In one-v-one situations, the winger is virtually unplayable and often draws fouls in and around the box.

Like many young attacking players, the Congolese international can improve on his decision-making in the final third of the pitch, as well as his efficiency in front of goal

Anderlecht are expected to announce the deal in due course.
