Guinea Midfielder Ibrahima Conte Reportedly Arrested for Domestic Violence

Beroe Stara Zagora midfielder Ibrahima Conte was on Sunday arrested for domestic violence, according to local media reports.

Niort midfielder Ibrahima Conte was on Sunday arrested for domestic violence, according to local media reports.

The 29-year-old Guinean international was handcuffed by police while he was in the middle of a training session with his French Ligue 2 side.

The report suggests that the midfield maestro was involved in a brawl with his wife at their former residence in Lorient and the fiancée has since opened a case of assault.

It is also reported that the former Beroe Stara Zagora player tried to escape, but he bumped into a neighbour’s gate whilst his fiancée was taken to a police station to report the incident.

Moreover, the owner of the residence has reportedly opened a case against the former KV Oostende midfielder.

His club released a short statement on the matter confirming the arrest of one of the players by the police in the context of a private affair.

Conte has since been released on bail and his case will be heard again on November 26 following his brief appearance in court on Monday.

Meanwhile, the reports emerge as the Syli Nationale international is slowly returning to his old form at club level under former Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastian Desabre.

It remains unclear if he will be available for the upcoming 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for Guinea after missing the last two matches.
