The Guinea national team, Syli Nationale, had a bad day in office, as they lost 3-2 to Chile in an international friendly match played on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Estadio Jose Rico Perez in Alacant, Spain.

It was a game that saw Guinea play an under-strength side due to the unavailability of the majority of the regular players.

Despite their absence, the Syli Nationale set the tone early on as Demba Camara rattled the frame of the goal, while Pa Kanote had a header saved by Bravo inside the opening 10 minutes.

It was one-way traffic as far as chances were concerned as Pogba was presented with another chance 28 minutes, but he steered his close-range header wide of the upright.

Guinea went on the lead on the 38th minute when Ibrahima Conte tapped in the opener following Simon Fallete’s delivery.

Chile had to wait until the final five minutes of the half when Diego Rubio picked out Pinares, who shot wide of Aly Keita’ goal.

Ten minutes into the second half, Chile went agonisingly close to scoring an equaliser once again as Claudio Pinares struck the crossbar with a close-range header.

Reinaldo Rueda’s charges eventually levelled matters in the 64th minute thanks to Jean Maneses, who reacted quickly to net from close range after Maripin was unable to find the target.

Guinea nearly restored their lead in three minutes after Kamso Mara whipped a telling cross at the near post towards Sory Konte, but the attacker’s diving header missed slightly wide.

Chile doubled their tally in the 71st minute when Syla Issiaga failed to control the ball properly, allowing Felipe Mola to beat Al Keita at the near post.

The Red Ones extended their lead three minutes later through a penalty that was easily taken by Arturo Videl after Guinean defender committed a foul inside the 18-yard box.

Ibrahima Camara snatched the second for Syli Nationale in the 80th minute when AS Kaloum midfielder beat the offside trap to capitalise on Kanote’s through ball to score.

Chile then held on for the remainder of the match to see out a 3-2 friendly win.

The Syli Nationale’ next assignment is in the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup Nations Qualifiers where the team will face Mali and Namibia in back to back matches.
