Guinea Coach Didier Six Earns Less Than His Predecessors

Guinea national team head coach Didier Six earns a lot less than it was originally believed after it emerged this week that the Frenchman’s monthly earnings are less than his predecessors Paul Put and Lappe Bangoura.

Ducor Sports can reveal that the Syli Nationale coach earns 17,000 Euros a month, which is considerably less than the 40,000 Euros a month salary he was reported to be earning after he was appointed to the national team coaching seat last year.

His predecessor Put, on the other hand, earned 30,000 Euros a month and Bangoura took home just under 20,000 Euros a month.

A source at Guinea Football Federation (Feguifoot) said that though he could not reveal Six’s salary, it was nowhere near the 40,000 Euros a month that has continued to be linked to his name since last year.

“It is an association policy that we do not reveal salaries and financial packages of employees to the public,” the source said.

“But what I can say is that the 40,000 Euros a month that has continued to be bandied about in the public domain since last year is far from it.”

National team coaches have an opportunity to increase their earnings through win bonuses but given that Syli Nationale have hardly won matches under Six, the Frenchman has already lost out on thousands of Euros.

Previously, as the coach of Mauritus national team, a job that he was forced to leave after only five months, he was earning US$10,000 equivalent of 9,200 Euros per month.

A recent Feguifoot policy restricts salaries to only head coaches of the various national teams, while some of assistants and backroom staff will be on allowances and bonuses as they are expected to have other jobs.
