A brilliant fight back saw Gor Mahia come from behind to beat Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 in Kenyan Premier League on Wednesday.

Chris Masinza scored first for the hosts Homeboyz but Tito Okello and Wilson Silva hit back for K’Ogalo to seal all the three points in the rescheduled fixture.

The game, a Gor Mahia away fixture, took place at Bukhugu Stadium, which is still undergoing renovations.

The win also marks K’Ogalo’s return to winning ways, having previously gone four games without a win in all competitions.

Masinza put the visitors in the lead in the 12th minute with a powerful shot after a good Stephen Mukongolo delivery.

Nicholas Muyoti’s side grew in confidence after taking the lead and could have been further ahead but David Okoth could only fire straight at Boniface Oluoch, although squaring the ball looked the better option.

Gor Mahia’s best opening arrived just before the half-time break when Samuel Onyango’s volley from six-yards out was blocked by Homeboyz defender Collins Odhiambo.

Four minutes after the interval, John Macharia whipped a dangerous delivery into the box and Silva Wilson got on the end of it but his effort was blocked.

The in-form Keneth Muguna then came mightily close after his right footed shot from outside the box missed to the left after Geoffrey Ochieng played a slide-rull pass to release him.

On the 56th minute,Tito Okello made it 1-1`finding the back of the net after the goalkeeper tipped a cross into the path of the attacker.

Kakamega Homeboyz were reduced to ten men on 73rd minute when Timothy Wainaina was sent for an early shower after an ugly battle with Samuel Onyango.

Then, Ali Bhai’s half-volley brought an excellent save out of the K’Ogalo shot-stopper. Sylvester Owino then curled a superb free-kick right on the edge of the box and it was heading for the top-right only for Oluoch to claw it away once again.

However, moments later, Brazilian import Wilson Silva curled the ball into the far corner after being played in by Miheso to put the game to bed on the stroke of stoppage time.
