The craving of a plethora of European big-name clubs, the Taifa Stars’ attacker is also courting suitors from the French League but Tanzanian publication CRL claimed today that Belgian club Genk have turned down an offer from an EPL side in Cardiff.

The Wales outfit had kept their interest in the forward secret until it emerged their £13M proposal had been deemed not good enough – a record transfer sum for the UK side.

The Belgian First Division A club is demanding €10M for their prized possession who only signed an extended contract elapsing June 2021 last month.

Genk opted to prolong the goal-getter’s deal with a pay rise, a plan devised to get future employers of the player forking out a huge sum to meet his release clause.

The Cristal Arena outfit have become a selling club after letting go of Gambian defender Omar Colley for a reported €8M to Italian Serie A’s Sampdoria at the end of last year.

The Smurfs’ board had hoped to keep a free-scoring Samatta beyond January when his price tag would have tripled but have grown resigned to huge possibilities of losing him before closure of the transfer window.

The ex-TP Mazembe goal-assassin is the Belgian top tier’s leading scorer on 15 goals in 21 domestic league showings.
