Gavin Hunt Returns To SuperSport United For Second Stint As Head Coach

SuperSport United on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Gavin Hunt as the head coach of the Pretoria giants on a two-year contract.

The 57-year-old coach returns to Matsatsantsa for a second stint as he previously held the same position between 2007 and 2013.

During his first spell at the club, the former Moroko Swallows mentor picked up four major titles, which was the last time Super Sport celebrated PSL title.

Hunt replaces Kaitani Tembo who the club sacked in April following a dismal domestic campaign.

After leaving SuperSport United went on to coach Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs before parting ways with Chippa United.

“Gavin has a great history with our club and his coaching record speaks for itself with four PSL League titles and domestic cups to his name,” the club CEO Stanley Matthews said.

“We have some fantastic young talent in the club that will benefit from Gavin’s vast experience and coaching ability and we look forward to him blending our youth with the experienced players we already have and the couple of new players who will be joining us in the weeks ahead.”
