Gabon’s FA have asked coach Daniel Cousin to eject Gilchrist Nguema from The Panthers team to face Burundi in the make or break AFCON qualifier.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers star-turned coach Daniel named Gilchrist as a player from Benfica Macau in his roster for the Burundi game.

The decision prompted an investigation by the FA whose findings unmasked Nguema as a clubless striker for the last seven months.

Issuing a statement asking the coach to drop the player, the football governing body in the Central African country reiterated to the gaffer that selection to the national team is based on competition and high standards.

Nguema has been replaced with Franck Obambou, plying his trade with Libya’s Al Ittihad.

Also, the availability of Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang remains a doubt.

The 29-year-old was summoned for the game but hasn’t given any definite reply. Aunameyang has not been in good terms with Cousins of recent including the FA amid claims he might retire from international football.
