Full Capacity Allowed For Simba-Orlando Pirates Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has given Simba Sports Club the clearance to have a full capacity Benjamin Mkapa Stadium when they meet Orlando Pirates in the first leg of 2021/2021 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal.

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) had written to the body requesting fans to be allowed to attend the continental assignment on April 17, 2022.

A statement from Simba said, the club has been allowed to have fans cheer them for their match against Orlando Pirates.

“The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has accepted our request for 60,000 fans to enter the field for the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final match against the Orlando Pirates.

“The game, which will be played on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at 1:00 pm, will be the first to be played in Tanzania using VAR technology.”

Simba reached the quarterfinal of the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing second in Group D behind Moroccan outfit RS Berkane.

Berkane will face Al Masry of Egypt with the Moroccans hoping to go all the way and add to the title they won in 2020.

The other quarterfinals will see DR Congo giants TP Mazembe play against Pyramids of Egypt, while Al-Ittihad of Libya will face their local rivals Al Ahli Tripoli in the second quarter-final.
