French Club Chasing Moroccan Striker Azaro

Al Ahly’s Cairo International Stadium stadium may cease to be Moroccan striker Walid Azaro’s home amid reports he could depart for a French Ligue1 outfit.

Al Ahly’s Cairo International Stadium stadium may cease to be Moroccan striker Walid Azaro’s home amid reports he could depart for a French Ligue1 outfit.

Azaro is under contract with Egypt and Africa giants Al Ahly but could see his future sorted sooner that he would think in the face of disclosure by his agent Mohammed Jamal Assi that a Ligue One club is trailing his client.

Walid joined The Red Devils of Cairo in 2017 winning the league and cup competition before finishing as top scorer.

However, it hasn’t been all smooth in recent times with the forward understood to be irked over President Mahmoud Alkahtib’s decision to single him out for derides in their loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Uruguayan-born gaffer Martin Lasarte has even gone ahead to minimize his involvement in the team by relegating him to the bench.

And dissatisfied with his situation, the player wants an end to the wrangle with the club authorities or force a move out.

Exploiting the situation, an unnamed French side has contacted Azaro’s agent hoping to initiate talks.

In the latest trajectory to the case, a $4m offer has been reportedly lodged but it remains to be seen whether Ahly will be tempted.
