Frank Odhiambo Injury Delays Djurgardens Debut

Kenyan international Frank Odhiambo will have to wait to make his Djurgardens IF debut as he is out injured, the Swedish top-tier side confirmed.

The Stockholm Stolthet captured Odhiambo on a five-year deal from Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia in January.

But the club confirmed that the fans will have to be patient to see their new man in action as he is still sidelined with injury.

“Before our match against Brage, an accident happened to Frank Odhiambo who suffered a finger injury during training,” the club said in a statement as translated from Swedish.

“The injury required surgery thus Frank was operated on his finger on Monday and now he will be out for two weeks. We will  get to evaluate the situation after the plaster has been removed.”

The teenage defender played a pivotal role at Gor Mahia where he was first team player since joining the record Kenyan champions in January 2021.

Odhiambo was part of the K’Ogalo squad which played in the CAF Confederation Cup first round and play off stage against Al Ahly Merowe and AS Otoho d’Oyo.

He was also in the Kenyan squad which finished fourth in the Cecafa Under 23 championship in Ethiopia in 2021.
