Senegal have ended 2020 as the highest ranked African nation on the final FIFA world rankings of the year.

The Teranga Lions have not played since November’s rankings and so remain at position 20 globally.

There has been little movement on the December rankings as there were no international or friendly matches played by all national teams for the last three weeks.

Ethiopia (146), Djibouti (184) both moved up a single place, hence remain the only African countries that made movements.

Tunisia remained second in Africa and 26th on the globe while reigning African champions Algeria are 31st in the world and third in Africa.

Belgium finished the year at number one and are followed by France, Brazil, England and Portugal in second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.
