FIFA Rules Out Action on Ghana’s Complaint Over Referee’s Performance during a World Cup Qualifier Against Uganda

FIFA has said it won’t act on the complaint made by the Ghana Football Association on the performance of referee Daniel Bennet and his assistants during the World Cup Qualifier match against Uganda, at the Mandela National stadium in Kampala.

Ghana had filed the complaint seeking a replay of the match against Uganda citing the poor performance of the South African referee and his assistants – Eldrick Adelaide and Steve Marie of Seychelles who is believed to have ‘denied Ghana a perfect goal in the 93rd minute with television replays showing that it was a goal’.

The goalless draw with Uganda saw Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for World cup come to an end and FIFA’s decision to rule out action means Ghana will miss out on taking part in the 2018 Finals in Russia.
