DR Congo international defender Ngonda Muzinga has completed a switch to French Ligue 1 side Djion, the club has announced.

The 24-year-old guardsman signed a two-year-deal with the Mustards after successful negotiations.

He joins the club from Congolese top-flight side AS Vita where his contract was due to expire at the end of next season.

“I am very happy to have arrived in Dijon. When playing football, the ambition of any African player is to go to play as high as possible, in Europe,” he told the club website.

Last season, Muzinga made a combined 30 league appearances for Black Dolphins, starting 25 of the games.

The Lubumbashi-born player is set to team up with Moroccan duo Fouad Chafik and Nayef Aguerd, Guinea-Bissau’s Mama Balde, Guinea’s Jules Keita, Gabon’s Didier Ndong and Bruno Ecuele Manga at Dijon.

Muzinga was a member of DR Congo’s team at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, where the Leopards made a Round of 16 exit.

At the tournament, he made three appearances, facing Uganda, Egypt and in the Central Africans ‘first and fast games in Egypt.
