Ex-France International Terminates Deal with 13-time Tunisian Champions over Unpaid Wages

A former France youth international has parted ways with his African employers following a dispute over his wages Ducor Sports understands.

A former France youth international has parted ways with his African employers following a dispute over his wages, Ducor Sports understands.

Zakari Labidi joined multiple-time Tunisian Premier League gong winners in the summer of last year.

The 24-year-old switched to Tunis from French outfit Brest where he wasn’t a first-teamer and got packed to the fringes most of the time.

He thought swapping France for the game in North African will have him revitalizing his career that had stalled from his stint in Olympique Lyon.

However, having spent sixteen months with Club Africain, Zakari has cancelled his contract over what he said was the side’s failure to pay him his earnings.

Talks were initiated between him and the movers and shakers of the team in desperate efforts to break the impasse, however, nothing came of the meetings, and this week, the attacker thought it best to call it quits.

Club Africain are battling finance issues and have series of complaints lodged against them by former players over unpaid salaries leading FIFA into initiating sanctions against them.

Efforts by Ducor Sport to reach Zakari’s representatives proved vain amid the belief that he could sue the team to the Luzern-based institution.

Meanwhile, Italy’s Hellas Verona have called off its planned exhibition game with Club Africain which was scheduled for Tunis.
