Former Leicester City striker Emile Heskey has expressed concern on the Foxes performance this season and explained why they need to start fighting for points soon.
The premier League champions have only managed 12 points from 11 games compared to Hull the top placed drop zone team (in 18th place) who are at 10 points meaning another two losses could take the foxes to the relegation zone.
Heskey explained saying,

“But then two losses can get you sucked back in again,”
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri last season joked that their target last season was 40 points to avoid relegation, but they ended up surprisingly taking the trophy. This 40 point target might have been a jock last season but the Foxes need to up their game to hit the mark and will fight even harder to at least get a Champions League spot.
The other bottom placed teams Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and West Ham United are all on 11 points while Southampton are 10th on 13 points.
Heskey who is the club’s all-time top scorer with 33 goals went on to say,
“Knowing the owners and some of the backroom staff, I know last year they were looking to get to 40 points, but they kept on winning games,”
“Really, deep down, they should be looking at the 40 points and then taking it from there.”
Leicester have only managed one point from a possible 15 on the road even worse losing to bottom placed Sunderland over the weekend. The Champions are back to competing with the likes of Bournemouth and Crystal Palace and any two more losses could land them in the bottom two.
Leicester will be facing Watford away from next before welcoming 15th placed Middleborough at the King Power stadium in must win fixtures.
