Egyptian Referee to Officiate Tunisian Domestic League Derby

Tunisia FA appoints Egyptian referee to officiate game.

Tunisia’s FA has settled long standing accusations of cheating often in the derby between Esperance and Africain by appointing an Egyptian to officiate the game.
League and African champions Esperance face nemesis Club Africain this Sunday, one of the fiercest derbies in the Tunisian Professional League.
Previous meetings between the two sides have always being marred by controversy and claims of bias and favouritism towards referees assigned to handle the game.
However, the FA in the North African nation today announced the appointment of an Egyptian referee to put to rest already growing concerns about fairness of proceedings.
The referee’s name has not being divulged but the Football House promised to communicate it by Friday.
Club Africain are ranked sixth on twenty-three points (23) in the log while serial champions Esperance occupy the third-place with a game in hand.
The Mustapha Ben Stadium will host the encounter.
