DR Congo’s Malango Joins Al-Sharjah From Raja Casablanca

Al-Sharjah have confirmed that they have signed the Democratic Republic of Congo striker Ben Malango from Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

The United Arab Emirates top-flight outfit released the following statement confirming the 27-year-old’s move from African Confederation Cup champions.

“We welcome Congolese international  Ben Malango to the Kings Castle coming from the Moroccan Raja Sports Club with a three-year contract,” reads the club’s statement.

Malango scored 31 goals in 60 games for Raja Casablanca in the last two seasons as they won Moroccan league and Confederation Cup titles.

He previously played for TP Mazembe and CS Don Bosco in Democratic Republic of Congo’s Linafoot league.

The Lubumbashi-born attacker joined the Moroccan side in July 2019 on a three-year deal but his debut at Morocco Botola league was put off due to a complaint from former club Tout Puissant Mazembe.

He obtained provisional authorization from FIFA to play with his new team in September 2020 before granted full status to play for the Green Eagles.

It is thought that Malango will meet up with his new Al-Sharjah team-mates next week when they return from a pre-season training camp from Khor Fakkan.
