The Comoros Football Federation (FFC) is yet to decide on Les Coelacanthes’ head coach Amir Abdou’s future.
The 46-year-old has been in charge of the Comoros senior national team since 2014 and his contract is set to elapse at the end of this month.
A source inside FFC house revealed that president Saïd Ali Saïd Athouman and members of the executive committee will decide on the way forward after the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Malawi.
“Nothing has been decided at the moment,” the source told Ducor Sports in an exclusive interview.
“According to the president (Athouman), he will have a meeting with the executive committee to decide on the way forward regarding our coach after Malawi match.”
Abdou guided the Les Coalacanthes to a famous 2-2 draw against Morocco in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B qualifier in October.
Despite good results, the most decorated coach in the history of Comoros football has not been in a good relationship with the new office that was appointed in February 2018.
He is one of the lowest paid coaches on the continent as he takes home a mere salary of 3000 Euros.
Comoros, who are placed at the bottom of Group B standings with two points from fours games, will face Malawi at home next weekend.
