Club Africain Spanks Sahel to Claim 13th Tunisian Cup

Club Africain yesterday retained the Tunisian Cup they won last season after beating Etoile Sportive Du Sahel.

It ended a 4-1 affair at the Stades Olympique Rades with 31-year-old Saber Khalifa scoring a brace in the routing.

Midfielder Wissem Ben Yahia smacked in the opening goal, breaking Etoile’s resistance in the 37th minute via a brilliant effort, a lead Africain maintained into the hiatus.

Resumption of play merely saw the hosts turn on the pressure again as Khalifa doubled the lead in the 51st minute.

Sahel regrouped to half the deficit making impressive one-twos. But just when they began picking up momentum, Ghazi Ayadi rubbed salt in the wounds, firing in the third goal.

Rami Bedoui then rose to plant home a header to make it 3-1 for Etoile before Khalifa stabbed home the winner in added time to complete up a 4-1 romping for Club Africain.
