Club Africain Appeal FIFA Ruling over Unpaid Cameroon Players Wages

Former Tunisia league champions Club Africain are on the cusp of appealing a ruling made against them by FIFA.

Former Tunisia league champions Club Africain are on the cusp of appealing a ruling made against them by FIFA.

The capital outfit were sued to FIFA by two Cameroonian players they signed seasons ago. Didier Rostand Yimga and Serge Nicolas Song were signed from a local Cameroonian club Douala on four-year contracts.

Their acquisition, it was hoped, would instil some exuberance in an ageing Africain who were looking to rid themselves of the deadwood in their squad.

However, those plans did not go as initially thought, with the love-affair between the Cameroonians and their employers turning tempestuous culminating into a legal wrangle.

The stars sued Club Africain to FIFA –the Tunisian side most reported to FIFA this season alone –with the belief the world football governing body could rule in their favour.

The Luzern-based institution consequently delivered a verdict asking the North African team to pay the players a combined €454,000.

Latest news indicate that Club Africain are considering lodging in an appeal which could be finalised this week.

The Stade Olympique Rades are battling financial crisis and have had six points deducted from them by FIFA over unpaid wages of players.
