Uganda Cranes will don the new Umbro kits as they take on Rwanda in their opening match of African Nations Championship on Monday.

Uganda will open their Group C campaign against the Amavubi at the Stade de la Reunification after qualifying for the 2020 CHAN for the fourth consecutive time.

The match against the Amavubi will kick-off at 10:00 East African Time after Morocco and Togo’s group opening clash.

Last month, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) confirmed they have acquired a new kit after the halting of the deal with previous official supplier Mafro.

FUFA communications director Ahmed Hussein has revealed that the sometime before the end of this week “everything will be revealed”.

“Later this week, the official Uganda Cranes jersey to be used (will be known),” Hussein told Ugandan newspaper, Daily Monitor.

Johnathan McKinstry and his team have been taking part in training sessions for the past four days after the conclusion of the Pre-CHAN tournament in Yaoundé.

The CHAN competition kicks off on January 16, with the final to be played on February 7 and the finals draw closer McKinstry insists Cranes are as collective as ready.

“We are looking at opportunities to add one percent here or two percent there. There is no major thing we want to change at this stage. The countdown is on and the boys are in good spirits. It is about adding those finer details so that we are fully prepared.”
