CAPS United Star Not Worried By Threat Of Being Sacked

CAPS United star Phineas Bamusi does not fear being sacked for allegedly leading a strike where section players stormed club offices on Tuesday demanding unpaid salaries.

The winger is accused by the club management of shouting at the club’s vice-president Nhamo Tutisani during the confrontation where players besieged the Zimbabwe Premier League outfit premises demanding three months salaries.

According to News Day, Bamusi said there was bad blood between him and Tutisani which had made him become a target by the club bosses.

“We don’t see eye-to-eye (with Tutisani). He always perceives me as the ringleader for all the player strikes that have been happening at Caps. But the problem is that he doesn’t have the power to fire me. If he had the power, I wouldn’t have been at Caps right now,” Bamusi said.

Bamusi adds that the thought of being fired by Makepekepe does not concern him as it’s every player’s right to be paid salaries.

Since February, Caps United has been struggling to meet players’ monthly financial obligations following the departure of their main sponsors Net One.

This is not the first time Makepekepe players have staged a revolt against salaries. Last year the green machine boys also staged a strike that later on resulted in the expulsion of some senior players.
