CAF Sets New Dates for Ismaily Games Against Constantine

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the dates for Ismaily’s African Champions League third and fourth round fixtures against CS Constantine.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the dates for Ismaily’s African Champions League third and fourth round fixtures against CS Constantine.

The Egyptian side had been kicked out of the competition owing to their fans violent behavior during the duel against club Tunisian side Club Africain last month.

Ismaily was trailing 2-1 when the match was called off with four minutes remaining, as fans relentlessly threw missiles onto the pitch, only to be admitted earlier last week after a successful appeal that allowed them back.

The two sides will play their third round fixture on the 23rd of February in Ismailia, a week before the away leg.

The Yellow Dragons opened their group with a 2-0 away loss to Congolese giants TP Mazembe which was followed by a surprise 2-1 home defeat to Club Africain.

Ismaily are currently bottom of the Group C with zero points from the two defeats, seven behind leaders TP Mazembe while Club Africain sit third with four points. Constantine sit second with six points.

The Ismailia-based side made to the group stages of the competition after bundling out Coton-Sport of Cameroon 3-2 on aggregate in the first round of the competition.
