CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage Draw Announced

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has completed the group stage draw for the 2021/2022 Confederation Cup.

The draw was held at CAF’s headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday afternoon.

Three-time champions CS Sfaxien have been placed in Group A alongside Pyramids of Egypt, Zambia’s Zanaco FC and Libyan contenders Al Ahlyi Tripoli.

Group B is made up of Orlando Pirates,  the winner between rescheduled fixture between JS Kabylie and Royal Leopards, JS Soura and Al Ittihad

Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe have been pooled in Group C alongside 2019/2020 semifinalists Coton Sports of Cameroon, Egypt’s Al Masy and AS Otoho of Congo.

Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas have been seeded in Group D, where they will battle Tanzania’s Simba Sports Club, Niger’s  US Gendamarie and former champions RS Berkane of Morocco.

The first round of group stage matches will commence on 13 February 2022, with the game week six beginning on 3 April.
