Burkina Faso will play the Democratic Republic of Congo during the next international break in October, the country’ football body has announced.

The Kalou Malo’s men will play against the Leopards October 9 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The Stallions will be using the match as part preparation for their double-header Nations Cup qualifying fixture against Namibia on November 9 and 17 respectively.

This will be Burkina Faso’s first match since their 2-0 victory against South Sudan in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers back in November 2019.

DR Congo, on the other hand, have a date with Morocco on October 13 at the Mouley Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

The Leopards were last in action on in November where they held The Gambia to a two-all draw away from home in a Nations Cup qualifier.

In November they resume their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Group D qualifiers with fixtures against Angola.

Meanwhile, Stallions’ next opponents in Nations Cup qualifiers, Malawi have announced that two of their players have tested positive for coronavirus.

The Flames hit camp on Monday at Mpira Village in Blantyre as part of preparations for the crucial back-to-back Nations Cup qualifiers against the Stallions.

Malawi coach Meck Mwase has named his squad ahead of expected assignments during the FIFA window between 5-13 October.

However, the Malawi Football Association has refused to disclose the names of the players who tested positive of the deadly virus.

The South African nation is eagerly waiting for the Taskforce committee to give a nod for sports resumption in the country.
