Burkina Faso national team head coach Kamou Malo has recalled SC Majestic goalkeeper Farid Ouedragao and utility attacker Zakaria Sanago to his 23-man squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Uganda and South Sudan.

Burkina Faso face Uganda on Wednesday, November 11 at the Stade du 4 Aout and then travel to Khartoum to face South Sudan on Sunday 17 November.

Oudragao returns to replace the first-choice goalkeeper Herve Koffi who got injured when playing for Portuguese club Belenenses SAD while Sango comes for AS Vita forward Ahmed Toure.

Given the close nature of the two matches and limited time for preparation, Malo is reported to have done some Stallions’ preparations work in last month’s 0-1 loss to Gabon at Stade Municipal.

Influential Dynamo Moscow midfielder Charles Kabore will lead the team that also has first-time call-ups in the name of Ben Idriss Traore of AS Sonabel and Babayoure Swadogo who turns for AS Douane.

Burkina Faso are drawn in Group B of qualification programme for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.

South Sudan‚ who are ranked 162th in the world‚ are the minnows of the group where the top two teams will qualify for the tournament.

Other teams in the group‚ Malawi are ranked 124th while Uganda 74th and Burkina Faso are currently ranked 60th.

Burkina Faso were in the same group with Uganda where their Wednesday’s opponents ended a four-decade absence ahead of the 2017 Afcon finals in Gabon.

The Stallions beat Cranes 1-0 in Ouagadougou and drew 0-0 in Kampala and managed to top the log in a group that included Comoros and Botswana.
