BREAKING: Second Resignation in Tunisian League

Mourad Okbi has resigned from his role as gaffer of embattled JS Kairouan citing personals reasons.

A second man has called it quits this week in the Tunisian Premier League, Ducor Sports understands.

Mourad Okbi has resigned from his role as gaffer of embattled JS Kairouan citing personals reasons.

The 54-year-old’s position started to become untenable on the heels of a single win in five outings, losing four times.

There’ve been murmurings in the previous games over the fate of the club and the coach despite the league being just five matches old.

Okbi and his charges lost to Stade du Tunisien on Wednesday. To many, this was the straw that broke the camel’s back, feeling he had had enough and wanted out.

Surprisingly, there have been no dressing room bust-ups as has happened this week when Ridha Charffidine resigned from his job as boss of Etoile du Sahel.

In the latter’s case, the board rejected the resignation urging he continue serving in the portfolio following negotiation behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, JS are yet to comment on their coach tendering in his resignation letter.
