Liberia’s Norwegian-based forward Sam Johnson has been ruled out of Lone Star upcoming match against the Warriors of Zimbabwe due to injury.

Liberia will host Zimbabwe in their 5th group match in Group G on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.

Striker Johnson’s injury news was broken this afternoon after head coach Thomas Kojo named his 20-man squad for the Sunday’s encounter.

Johnson, who missed the first leg in Herrera, Zimbabwe, played a vital role in the team’s previous three group matches and scored the team’s lone goal when they suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Congo in Brazzaville. He has been replaced by Barrack Young Controllers’ forward Fallah Sheriff.

According to a release from the LFA, Newcastle United U-23 central midfielder Mohammed Sangare is expected to make his debut after resolving his work permit issues that earlier prevented him from making his debut in the previous matches.

Goalkeepers named in the team are Boison Wynney de Souza, Ashley Williams and Ishaka Jalloh.

Defenders include Teah Dennis, Joel Johnson Alajarin, Alvin Maccornel, Kemoh Sidiki Kamara, Aloysius Snosie Simujla and Euguene Swen .

Midfielders in the squad include Anthony Snoti Laffor, Murphy Oscar Dorley, Tonia Tisdell, Sylvanus C. Nimely, Mohammed Sangare, Allen Njie David Tweh and Fallah Sheriff.

The strikers are team captain William Jerbo, Kpah Sean Sherman and Sam Kollie.
