BREAKING: Egypt’s El-Gouna Hire Sedki as Coach

Battling Egyptian Premier League side El Gouna have hired Hamadi Sedki as coach.

Battling Egyptian Premier League side El Gouna have hired Hamadi Sedki as coach.

The 57-year-old is appointed to step into the shoes of Hesham Zakaria who departed the outfit after tendering his resignation letter, having seen the team plummet in performance.

El Gouna announced the deal on their club website hours ago without bothering to reveal the new gaffer’s contract duration.

A former coach of Egypt’s Dream Team that failed short of reaching the Olympics, Hamadi is tasked with reviving El-Gouna’s fortunes as the newly promoted club leans precariously close to the drop zone.

Gouna boasts of a return of sixteen points in a possible forty-eight (48) in fifteen domestic league outings. Out of this, they’ve recorded just three wins, seven draws, losing five times and conceding twenty-three (23) goals.

Sixteen (16) points separate them with table-toppers Zamalek with Pyramids closely at second-place while Msr Lel Makasa sits at third in 18-team Egyptian Presentation-sponsored top tier.
