Black Stars Midfielder Kudus Mohammed Joins Ajax

Ghana international Kudus Mohammed has joined Eredivisie giants Ajax FC from Norwegian outfit FC Nordsjælland.

Ghana international Kudus Mohammed has joined Eredivisie giants Ajax FC from Danish outfit FC Nordsjælland.

The club confirmed the development on their social media accounts saying that the attacking midfielder has signed a five-year contract after passing mandatory medical on Thursday in Amsterdam.

“Welcome to your new dream, Mohammed! #KudusDream,” Ajax tweeted.

The 19-year-old joined FC Nordsjælland from Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy way back 2018.

His consistent presence in attack saw him score nine goals in nineteen league matches for Nordsjaelland last season.

Kudus’ good form had Tottenham Hotspurs Paris Saint-Germain, Rennes, Marseille, Fenerbahce and Inter Milan interested on his signature.

The Accra-born star will wear the number 20 shirt at Ajax and will be looking to fill the big boots left by Hakim Ziyech.

Kudus shot to prominence after excelling at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017 in India and was the star of the Black Satellites team at the Africa Youth Championship in Niger in February last year.

He earned his maiden Ghana senior call-up in November last year where he made the most of the opportunity as he netted on his debut to ensure a 2-0 triumph over South Africa in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
