Striker Bengali-Fode Koita says he wants to focus on his club career for now rather than an international recall.

The 29-year-old, who turns for Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa, has won four caps since his first Syli Nationale call-up in January 2017.

Guinea coach Didier Six overlooked him for matches against Comoros, Chile and Namibia in November last year.

Koita said; “The only objective that I put in mind is to be successful in the club, to score as many goals as possible. I want to be more efficient and the rest will come automatically.

“Today football takes place every weekend thus I don’t have to wait for a competition which arrives after two years [Afcon]. I stay focused on my club.”

The former France Under-21 international joined Kasimpasa from Blackburn in January 2016 for a fee of €320,000.

His has for far scored 18 goals and made 21 assist in 81 appearances in the four seasons in the Turkish League.

Kasimpasa were occupying 11th on the table after gathering 26 points from 126 matches before the suspension of the league due to coronavirus outbreak.
