Belouizdad Host Esperance In Titanic Clash

CR Belouizdad will face off with Esperance de Tunis in the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League quarter-final first-leg match at Stade du 5 Juliet in Algiers on Saturday.

Kick Off is at 18h00 CAT.

The White and Reds, who are first-time quarterfinalists, made to the knockout stages after finishing second in Group A, following the much needed wn against second string Mamelodi Sundowns.

In that match, Sundowns rested many regulars and the gamble backfired as they suffered a first loss in the competition this season after six victories and a draw.

Franck Dumas, the Belouizdad head coach, is expected to lead the Algerian side to the semifinals that will be first in 51-years of attempt.

Belouizdad striker Amir Sayoud has led by example for the entirety of the season with his exemplary role that has also seen him being the leading Champions League top scorer with seven goals.

Meanwhile, Tunisia giants Esperance clinched their place in the quarter-finals after winning Group D with 11 points from six games.

Moine Chaabani, the Esperance coach, will be looking to guide the four-time champions to the semi-finals.

The winner on aggregate between CR Belouizdad and Esperance will face off with either Mamelodi Sundowns or Al Ahly in the semi-finals.

Congolese referee Jean Jacques Ndala Ngabo will be in charge of the match between CR Belouizdad and Esperance de Tunis on Saturday.
