Belgian Giants Sign Ghanaian Rising Star

Anderlecht will be home for the next four-and-half years to Ghanaian wonder kid, Dauda Mohammed, after an agreement deal with the erstwhile Belgian champions.

The 19-year-old has been on Anderlecht’s radar for a while but the Purple and Whites managed to sway the starlet, fending off interest from other clubs in the process.

Reports monitored in Ghana, peg the transfer fee made to Kumasi Asante Kotoko – although undisclosed – to be in excess of $450,000.

A role in first-team football come next season, is believed to have done the trick including Mohammed’s reckoned move to Brussels’ Capital-region, suited as best for his career growth.

The Belgian outfit, are yet to make a public announcement of the deal pending completion of a mandatory medical and work permit issuance, from Belgium’s FA.

But the U-20 Ghanaian star, flew out last week to join his new teammates as preparation for the final lap of the herculean promotion play-offs, nears resumption.

Mohammed caught the eye of Anderlecht’s far-reaching scouts after helping Asante finish in 5th position in the previous campaign, netting eight times.

While Mohammed views his contract with the Pro League heavyweights as a massive step forward, his departure has however left local Ghanaian club, Kotoko, sweating over finding his replacement.
