Azam Agree In Principle To Sign Midfielder Muguna From Gor Mahia

Azam FC will sign Kenyan midfielder Kenneth Muguna from Gor Mahia for a two and a half years for undisclosed fee, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has been with the KPL champions since signing from Albanian side KF Tirana  in October 2018.

However, Mwananchi newspaper reports that the midfielder is set for a new challenge in the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League with the Ice Cream Makers.

It’s claimed the midfielder is in advanced negotiations with the players handlers with the two-and-half year deal thought to have been agreed.

Yanga was also reportedly interested in the 17-time international but he looks to have chosen a move to George Lwandamina’s side.

Muguna is enjoying a productive 2020/2021 season for Gor Mahia after registering several goals and a number of assists in 18 appearances.

He had previously played for Western Stima where he won 2016 KPL Player of the Year Award.

Muguna left to join FK Tirana of Albania in 2018 before returning back to the club the same year.

He was named Gor Mahia captain in August 2019 after the exit of Harun Shakava, who joined Zambian Super League giants Nkana FC,.

Muguna was forced to surrender the armband this season following the defender’s return to the club.
