Ayub Timbe Set For Reading Loan Extension

English Championship side Reading FC would like to extend Ayub Timbe’s stay with his loan deal from Chinese side Beijing Renhe expiring at the end of June.

English Championship side Reading FC would like to extend Ayub Timbe’s stay with his loan deal from Chinese side Beijing Renhe expiring at the end of June.

The Harambee Stars winger joined the Royals during the January transfer window after penning a six-month loan deal, and he only managed to play a few minutes before the league was suspended owing to the coronavirus outbreak.

Ducor Sports understands Reading and Renhe are on the brink of finalizing the Kenyan attacker’s loan agreement, with the player ready to extend his stay at the club for a further six months.

The extension will mean that Renhe will miss out on Timbe for the majority of this season’s Chinese Super League. However, he’ll see out the final stages of this season for the Royals.

China’s domestic league has yet to start the 2020 season after kick-off was delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Speculations are mounting that the campaign will begin in July though a previous proposal by the football authorities is yet to be approved by the Chinese government.

The 27-year-old was the team’s second major capture in the January transfer window after that of Brazilian midfielder Felipe Araruna who joined the club on a two and a half year deal from Sao Paulo.

Timbe made his international debut against South Africa in October 2012, coming off the bench to play alongside Tottenham Hotspurs star Victor Wanyama and against former Royals loanee Bongani Khumalo.
