Asante Kotoko Set to Release Striker

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko will let striker Richard Arthur leave ahead of the new season, according to reports.

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko will let striker Richard Arthur leave ahead of the new season, according to reports.

Arthur joined the Porcupine Warriors six months ago from St George of Ethiopia but struggled in his first months with the club preferring Burkina Faso striker Sogna Yacouba to lead their attack.

The lanky forward signed a three-year deal and a termination of his contract may be done on agreement by both parties with the striker being linked with a move to Tunisia.

The 26-year-old came to Kotoko with loads of experience after helping Wa All Stars win the Ghana Premier League title in 2016.

Apart from Arthur, it has been reported that the club is also set to part ways with Ugandan forward, George Abege, who joined the team in the second half of the league last season from Kenya’s Kariobangi Sharks.

The Porcupine Warriors are now set to turn the focus on acquiring quality players ahead of Ghana Premier League which is set to begin this month after they were bundled out of the CAF Confederations Cup by Ivorian minnows FC San Pedro.
