Asante Kotoko Part Ways With Midfielder

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have confirmed midfielder Samuel Appiah Kubi has left the club on mutual consent 11 months after joining the Porcupine Warriors.

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have confirmed midfielder Samuel Appiah Kubi has left the club on mutual consent 11 months after joining the Porcupine Warriors.

The young midfielder, formerly with Nkoranza Warriors, found game time difficult to come by during his stay at Kotoko, featuring mainly as a sub under coach Charles Akonnor.

Kubi has decided to finally quit as confirmed by the club this morning on their official twitter handle and went on to wish him best of luck for the future.

“We wish to formally announce the mutual termination of our contract with the player, Samuel Appiah Kubi. We’re grateful to him for his service and wish him all the best in the future.”

Kubi had inked a four-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors for an undisclosed fee as the head coach Akonnor pinned hopes on the youngster to be the answer to the club goal-scoring woes.
While Kubi made a total of six appearances in all competitions for the ambitious Kotoko, he failed to hit the heights which was expected of a player who once was a target of Congolese giants TP Mazembe.
