Antony Akumu: Kaizer Chiefs Release Midfielder From Contract By Mutual Consent

South Africa Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs have cancelled the contract of midfielder Antony Agay Okumu by mutual agreement.

The 29-year-old joined the Amakhosi in January 2020 from Zambia Super League side Zesco United on a free transfer.

Okumu arrived on a three-year contract as a replacement of Ghanaian midfielder James Kotei but he scored only two goals in 47 games.

The Kenyan international was initially placed on the club’s transfer list in May when a number of other players were released.

“After initially putting him on the transfer list, Kaizer Chiefs and Anthony Akumu Agay have mutually agreed to an early termination of his contract. The contract was set to expire in June 2023,” the club posted on its official website.
