Amrouche Rules Out a Return to Kenya

Former Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche has distanced himself with speculations linking him to a move to Kenyan Premier League sides, Wazito FC and Gor Mahia.

Former Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche has distanced himself with speculations linking him to a move to Kenyan Premier League sides, Wazito FC and Gor Mahia.
On Thursday, Amrouche, who led Kenya to the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup title in 2013, was spotted at Ruaraka Grounds during the friendly match between Tusker FC and Ulinzi Stars.
Rumours started linking him with a return to Kenya. Gor Mahia coach Hassan Oktay’s tenure is up in the air after he requested for a compassionate leave while big-spenders Wazito FC is said to be looking for a high-profile coach to work with former Kenya international Fred Ambani.
Amrouche has however dismissed the reports saying he is in the country to visit friends before jetting out.
“I am not interested in working in Kenya, at least not for now. I was in transit and I decided to stop by to greet my old friends. I have many friends here in Kenya and that’s the reason I am here. I am not here for a coaching role but maybe in future, it could happen, who knows,” he stated.
