Revenge is the tone of gaffer Djamel Belmadi ahead of his Algeria’s game against Zambia today.

The Chipolopolo are playing away in Algiers at the Stade Moustapha in their opening Africa Cup of Nations 2021 qualifier.

The landlocked country trounced the African Champions a year and a half ago and while Belmadi wasn’t in charge when it occurred, the Algerian coach still wants that loss rectified by beating the visitors today.

“Our last two games against the Zambians we lost both and it’s a year and a half ago,” he told a pre-match briefing Tuesday evening.

“This is the team that defeated us and it will motivate us to seek revenge even if the most important thing for us to start well in the qualifiers,” he said.

The Africa Cup of Nations holders are pitted in the same group H with Botswana and Zimbabwe.
