Agostos’ Coach: We Have Arguably Best Defence in Africa

Zoran Manojvic believes his Angolan premier league club CD Primeiro de Agosto have arguably the best defence in Africa.

Serbian-born gaffer Zoran Manojvic believes his Angolan premier league club CD Primeiro de Agosto have arguably the best defence in Africa.

The eleven-time Angolan domestic champions held hosts Zambia’s Zesco United to a goalless stalemate this week in a group D Total CAF Champions League fixture.

The Luanda-based outfit managed to steal a point in Lusaka following an impressive showing by Agosto’s net-minder Adao Bango Cabaca and his back-line.

And Zoran Manojlvic singled out his goalkeeper and defence for immense adulation saying he has arguably the best fortress in Africa.

“We have arguably the best defence in Africa at the moment. Today the goalkeeper was our best player. In the first half we did not play well.

“In the second half, we had one or two good and dangerous counter attacks but all the best chances were for Zesco United and our goalkeeper was very good,” he said.

He continued: “I’m 90% sure that we have played around 30 matches and only allowed 5 goals and the goalkeeper is part of that impressive defensive set up.”

Agosto will play host to Zesco July 27 for the return fixture as both sides seek to secure vital points in a bid to reach the next phase of the continental club showpiece.
