AC Milan Keen On Signing Ivorian Defender Sinaly Diomandé

AC Milan are contemplating a move for Sinaly Diomande after the Ivory Coast international impressed for Olympique Lyonnais this season.

The 20-year-old central defender has been a key figure for Lyon this season and could now be on his way to Italy for a fee of €13million, where he could unite with his countryman Franck Kessie.

Signed a new five-year contract extension with Lyon in January, Diamonde could be on his way out just a few months after committing his long-term future to the OL.

Diamonde arrived in France from Malian club Guidars FC in September 2019 and has quickly established himself as one of the best players in country.

He’s a versatile defender but he can also play behind a striker or on the left hand side where he can cut back inside onto his favoured right foot.

He’s also impressed enough in recent years to force his way into the senior setup for Ivory Coast, so it’s clear that the youngster has a bright future in the game.

He might be seen as a cheap option for Milan although it’s hard to tell if he has the quality to come in and improve the team, or if he would simply be another rotation piece for Stefano Pioli if he does make the move.
