Abdou Razack Traore Mother Speaks

The mother to Burkina Faso and Giresunspor  midfielder Abdou Razack Traore has opened her entire home to cameras for the world to judge whether or not she is living a life worthy of a mother to a millionaire soccer superstar of international repute.

In an interview with an Abidjan television, Razack’s  mother (name withheld) claims to have been neglected by her son for years and she couldn’t figure out why she should be the mum of a multi-millionaire son and yet live as a wretch.

“Where I stay, I don’t sleep at night because of this one child. I have suffered too much with this child. The day I brought Razack into the world, I was happy. But today, see how my child is treating me.I am suffering a lot,” she said as per interview clip posted by Faso Sports.

“I beg his forgiveness… The way Aicha (Razak’s wife) loves her dad and then her mom there, Razack should love me that way. I am his mother, I was the one who carried Razack in my womb for 9 months.”

It is reported that the Stallions star split with his mother a decade ago adding that Razack refuses any physical contact with her, and even failed to cater for medical expenses incurred by his father.

The 32-year-old Burkinabe attacker was born and raised in Ivory Coast where he started his professional football career at Raja Casablanca.

However, Razack’s sorry tale of neglecting his mother and family members is not new phenomena especially in Africa.

Few years ago, Ghana Michael Essien was in the news when his father allegedly told the media about his poor state of life and health due to his son’s lack of concern.

Around the same time, Togo’s Emmanuel Adebayor was accused by his family for sacking them from the house he had rented for them and failed to give his mother money for her upkeep.
