Wilfred Zaha Scores One and Creates Another as Crystal Palace Sink Chelsea

Wilfred Zaha once again put on a headline-grabbing display against Chelsea just a week following the headlines about his decision to switch international allegiances from England to Ivory Coast last year.

The former England winger put on a man of the match performance outclassing the Chelsea defense despite his side having a very low possession.

Chelsea took the lead in the fifth minute after Eden Hazard’s cross from the left found Fabrigas who finished it off on the near post.

As Crystal Palace pushed forward, it was clear the Blues lacked their normal balance and coordination without Victor Moses.

Pedro who had filled in for the Nigerian was unable to contain on fire Crystal Palace playmaker. He leveled the score nine minutes later finding the bottom of the corner from just outside the box with three Chelsea players around him.

Two minutes later, Ivory Coast international created the winner finding Christian Benteke who put Crystal Palace ahead with a classy cocky dink over Thibaut Courtois.

Zaha seems to have taken inspiration from England manager’s claim that he lacks passion. He’s slowly proving that his sensational solo wonder goal against Russia in the international break wasn’t just a mere chance.

Chelsea piled on the pressure but the Eagle’s back were up for the task. Chelsea had 24 shots at goal, their second-highest in 29 league games this season.

The Eagles keeper Wayne Hennessey made 11 saves to ensure they got their fourth successive win in the league.

Chelsea hadn’t lost a home game since September last year. Their lead at the top of the English Premier League has been cut to seven points after closest rivals Tottenham beat Burnely.
