JS Kabylie Striker Eyeing Harambee Stars Return

Kenyan international Masoud Juma has revealed that he is eyeing a call-up to the senior national team, the Harambee Stars, after almost nine months of absence.

Masoud who plays in Algeria with JS Kabylie has not played for Harambee Stars since October 2019 due to a long-term injury.

The 24-year-old returned into action for his club in January and hit the ground running before the league was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now the former Cape Town City playmaker says he is eyeing a potential return to the national team ahead of upcoming 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“I want to be back to the national team and cement my place there. I am working hard to impress by scoring goals for my club Kabylie,” Masoud told Madgoat TV as translated from Kiswahili.

Masoud made his senior international debut for Harambee Stars in June 2017, when he was named to the starting XI of 2019 Africa Nations Cup qualifier away to Sierra Leone.

He earned his second cap during a friendly against Mauritania two months later, where he scored with a 58th-minute header.

Masoud became a very important player for the Kenya national team that participated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt.

His fine form resulted in a move to the Algerian club where he penned a three-year contract in July last year.
