Dieumerci Mbokani, the DR Congo goal assassin they acquired on a free transfer who has turned their saviour all season so far, is out injured.

At 34, the erstwhile Monaco front-man is the league’s top mask-man on fourteen goals and still counting, effectively making him one of the leading goal-getters in the modern European game this term.

His latest feat represents how far he has come off having initially teed off the season a doubted striker believed to be well beyond his sell-by-date.

However, if there is to be an overall assessment of Antwerp’s cause of rebirth, there sure won’t be discounting of his invaluable inputs.
