Togo Wary of Harambee Stars Threat

Togo is wary of the threat that their Monday 18 November opponents, Kenya, pose to their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.

The Hawks coach Claude Le Roy notes that they will focus on bagging maximum points in the Group G match after losing the opener 1-0 against Comoros.

“We know Kenya picked up a fantastic result in Alexandria against Egypt, they managed a draw and we know how it is difficult for any team to go there and get a point from Egypt,” Le Roy told Goal.

Le Roy also challenged his strikers to be sharp in front of the goal as it’s the striking department that failed them back in Lome.

“The team’s [Togo] finishing is one area which we must work on before we face Kenya, it let us down against Comoros, it was our main problem but I know the players are ready to get a win and I am very happy to return to Kenya again.”

Although Togo lost to Comoros they have exhibited class and appear to be keeping plenty in reserve for the match set to be played at Kasarani Stadium.

Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba is the danger man for the Hawks and he will be looking to help his side secure an away victory.

Comoros host Egypt in the other second-round Group G match of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers on Monday.
