Troubled Tunisian Club Reveals the Players Suing Them

Trouble Tunisia’s Club Africain have gone ahead to name former players they owe huge sums of money.

The capital-based North African Premier League outfit are cash-strapped having endured huge debts beginning from the time an indicted Slim Riahr was the side’s president.

Erstwhile Africa club champions, the 99-year-old club are facing severe financial crisis and have had a couple of points deducted from them as punishment by FIFA for failing to meet payment deadlines.

This move to strip Africain of points came as a last resort to FIFA over the team’s inability to respect agreed dates in which they’re to cough up amounts owed to former players.

In a bid to win over public support the club president opened a separate bank account for dispute resolution in the future – an initiative which also had the Tunisian FA chipping in to rescue the situation.

However, all these undertakings seem not to have impressed FIFA who could yet again deduct three points or ban the team.

In the newest twist to the saga, the embattled football team have revealed the names of former players who have lodged complaints to FIFA along with the amounts they’re owed.

Zimbabwe’s Matthew Rusike turned out to be the star most owed with his sum soaring up 193,000 euros followed by Souleyman Coulibaly who is to be paid 165,000 euros.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear as to what would follow next.
